CG Restaurants & Bars has acquired London bar Mary Janes from Mint Group to convert it into its ninth site for Dirty Martini.
The operator will invest £1.2m in transforming the 6,500 sq ft premises in Minories in the City into the stylish cocktail bar concept. All staff will be able to transfer over to CG Restaurants & Bars.
Mint Group, which opened Mary Janes (pictured) nine years ago, has sold the business to focus on expansion of its restaurant and bar concept Mommi which opened in Clapham, south London, last year.
CG Restaurants & Bars’ chief executive Scott Matthews said: “This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for Dirty Martini. Over the last three years we have had outstanding success in the City, growing by 8% in the year to date versus 2015, and we strongly feel that Dirty Martini Minories will be a great addition to the portfolio.”
Dirty Martini is already in seven sites in London – Bishopsgate, Clapham, Covent Garden, Hanover Square, Islington, Monument and St Paul’s – and will open its first site outside of London in Cardiff in October.
