New-look Kozel app to drive trade to bars

kozel pint finder appMiller Brands is to relaunch its mobile app that encourages consumers to visit bars and pubs that sell Czech beer Kozel.

Due to go live in May, Kozel’s new-look Pint Finder app will allow people to redeem two free pints of the beer in participating outlets, driving traffic to the venues and driving awareness and trial.

The activity will be supported by a national print campaign in ShortList magazine as well as Facebook mobile advertising. It follows the success of a similar initiative with the Pint Finder app that launched a year ago.

Sam Rhodes, director of customer marketing for Miller Brands, said: “The Kozel Pint Finder app has already been a huge success with over 37,000 consumers being driven into local outlets to sample the beer in 2013.

“By increasing brand awareness and encouraging consumer trial through this promotion we aim to help licensees take advantage of the trade-up opportunity offered by Kozel.

“Already the third biggest trade-up lager brand in the UK, Kozel is the perfect entry into world beer, acting as a great starting point for licensees to introduce customers to the higher-margin world beer category and take advantage of the potential £1.8billion in trade-up opportunities that the category presents.”

Brewed with soft forest spring water and caramel malt in the Czech village of Velké Popovice, Kozel has been a hit with outlets that already stock the beer, according to Miller Brands.
