New managing director appointed at Marblehead

A new managing director has been announced for leading drinks company Marblehead Brand Development to replace Emma Wykes who is leaving the business after six years.

Jeremy Rockett (pictured) is taking over the role after spending 10 years as marketing director of Gonzalez Byass UK, the commercial arm of Spanish wine and spirits company Gonzalez Byass.

He was a founder member of the UK company which looks after wines and sherries including Tio Pepe and Croft Original as well as spirits London No 1 Gin and Soberano brandy.

Warren Scott, founding partner and director of Quintessential Brands Group which owns Marblehead, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jeremy Rockett to Marblehead and the Quintessential Brands Group. He brings a wealth of management experience to the group and his particular expertise working with the prestige on-trade fits perfectly with Marblehead’s plans for growth.”

Emma is leaving to become sales director for Pontoon Cocktails, a specialist in premium packaged cocktails, to look after the brand’s launch in the UK and other markets.

She joined Marblehead six years ago in a sales management role, taking over as managing director in June 2013. She was previously global head of sales and marketing for Martin Miller’s Gin, which she helped to launch in the UK.

Warren said: “We are grateful to Emma for leading Marblehead over the past two years, particularly during the company’s acquisition by the Quintessential Brands Group in July 2014, and we wish her well in her new venture.”

Marblehead’s distribution portfolio includes Bloom Gin, Berkeley Square Gin, Opihr Gin, Ypióca cachaça, Glen Moray whisky, Domaine de Canton liqueur, Skipper rum, Toussaint coffee liqueur, Davna vodka and Molinari sambuca.
