New range of mixers promises no sugar or calories

Skinny vA new range of mixers called Skinny V has been launched in the UK that contain no sugar, no calories and no carbohydrates.

They have been developed by Ian Minton, a type-one diabetic who noticed how hard it was to find drinks that were low on calories and sugar as well as free of additives.

The mixers come in five flavours, enhanced only by natural and essential vitamins. They include the effervescent Skinny Tonic, with a twist of lime, and the energy drink-flavoured Skinny Bull.

The others contain natural fruit flavours: Skinny Berry, combining raspberry and cranberry, Skinny Apple and Skinny Peach. They are all enhanced with vitamins B1, B3, B6, B12 and C and use only the natural sweetener, stevia.

They are being distributed to the on-trade throughout the UK, including Whisky Mist and Mahiki in London and Australasia, Manchester House and Cloud 23 at the Hilton Deansgate in Manchester.

The brand has its own Skinny V app that helps fans find their nearest venue stocking the mixers.

Ian said: “As a type-one diabetic it was increasingly hard for me to find a suitable drink on a night out. My choices were so limited that it became a challenge to go out and enjoy myself.

“Any drink I found would be laden with hidden additives and a ridiculous amount of calories, which wasn’t ideal when following a healthy lifestyle.

“This all became my driving force to create this healthy alternative for myself and others like me who are diabetic, want to be healthy or simply want a change. Skinny V is for everyone.”
