New strawberry vodka packs a punch

A limited-edition fresh strawberry vodka that packs a punch at 50% ABV has been launched by Arbikie Highland Estate.

Distilled using summer’s fresh strawberries grown locally by their family next to the distillery, Arbikie has created wheat vodka for this latest expression.

Arbikie’s distillers, Christian Perez and Kirsty Black have spent the past year perfecting the Strawberry Vodka to ensure optimum taste and smell.

“We were keen to create a unique vodka using only fresh produce with local strawberries,” Christian said. “We used wheat grown on the farm to make the vodka that provides distinctive notes of butterscotch and biscuit characteristics. At 50% ABV, not only do you get a great base spirit for cocktails but also an incredibly smooth and fresh tasting vodka.”

The fresh strawberries change subtly in flavour each year depending on the season’s mix of soft Scottish summer sun and variable east coast weather.
Arbikie has a growing reputation for farm-to-bottle provenance as it grows the ingredients on its estate to ensure full traceability.

In 2014, they created the first Scottish Potato Vodka, which was followed by the launch of Kirsty’s Gin, using locally-foraged botanicals, and its Chilli Vodka distilled using fresh chillies from Scotland’s first chilli farm.

Suggested serve: use Arbikie Strawberry Vodka for a twist on a classic martini with black pepper and fresh mint.
