New summer menu champions classic drinks

Meadow Rose, Sunshine Garden Smash & Strawberry Negroni

Rev JW Simpson bar in London’s Fitzrovia continues its tradition of championing traditional and forgotten drink serves with its new summer menu.

Cocktails include the Sunshine Garden Smash, made with vodka infused with lavender and thyme, mixed with crushed grapefruit, orange and lemon, churned with crushed ice and mint and finished with violet liqueur.

The Fennel Top Daisy is a crisp mix of Rathbone New London Dry Gin with fresh green apple and mint, a squeeze of citrus, a touch of fennel top liqueur and a dash of club soda.

The bar is also demonstrating how to make summery drinks in its new programme of Spirited Sermons for customers. They include a master class on vermouth and aromatised wines on August 6 and a session on Dutch jenever on September 3.

The master classes run from 6.30pm to 8pm, costing £25 including three cocktails. For more on Rev JW Simpson, visit www.revjwsimpson.com
