Pierre Condou to launch new club at Paramount

Zinc ParamountPart of London’s lofty bar and restaurant Paramount in the landmark Centre Point tower is to be relaunched as a new late-night club by owner Pierre Condou.

Zinc on the 31st floor – downstairs from Paramount’s restaurant – will offer cocktails, dancing and DJs on Friday and Saturday evenings through to dawn thanks to its 24-hour licence.

A new look is being designed by Studio Wick, with features including a snake-inspired velvet chaise longue winding its ways down one entire side of the lounge, fretworking on the walls and cutting-edge lighting.

A 10ft bar created by designer Tom Dixon will be made from the bar’s namesake, zinc, with a futuristic panelling design.

Zinc is being created by Pierre, who launched Paramount in 2008. He has over 30 years’ experience in the nightlife industry, with previous projects including Bistrot Bruno, L’Odéon and Century Club in London. He said: “We’ve created Zinc with a sense of imagination, style and fun.”

Cocktails, created by bar manager Jonathan Sireling, will include modern takes on classic drinks such as the signature Zinc Julep, a refreshing blend of Bombay Sapphire Gin, thyme-infused dry vermouth with a dash of lavender bitters, topped with tonic water.

The Beekeeper will be a warming mix of butter-infused Bacardi rum shaken with lime and honey, while the 21st Century will be a delicate mix of Grey Goose vodka, white chocolate, lemon grass, Billecart-Salmon champagne and rosemary.

Guests will also be able to enjoy sliders and other gourmet sharing dishes, changing on a regular basis.
