Newcastle bar adds movie-inspired cocktails

Osborne's Jesmond NewastleA cocktail menu inspired by classic movies has been introduced at Osbornes (pictured) in Newcastle upon Tyne.

They include two drinks paying homage to a classic horror movie: Silence of the Jams, a mix of rum, rhubarb jam, vanilla and lime, and Hannibal’s Nectar which combines honey with cherry-flavoured bourbon, caramel syrup and chocolate honeycomb.

Other offerings include A Chocwork Orange, One Flew Over the Cucumber Next and a section dedicated to Lord of the Rings including The Fellowship of the Gin and The Tanqueray Towers.

Popular animated films inspire more cocktails for grown-ups, from Beauty and the Bellini to Despicable Tea and Cloudy With A Chance of Apples.

Jamie Logan, mixologist and assistant manager at Osbornes in Jesmond, said: “We’ve put together a really imaginative cocktail menu with some superb offerings which link with these movie classics. There’s something for everyone – and for every genre – and we’re sure that they are going to be a real hit with everyone.

“We’ve paid tribute to great films such as Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, using ingredients that relate to the titles with a bit of an original twist.”
