Held in London, the UK event is run by drinks company Eaux de Vie for Japanese whisky Nikka. It involved a master class by brand ambassador Stanislav Vadrna on the Japanese concept of “omakase”, where the bartender is entrusted with selecting a customer’s drink, whether it is a whisky or a cocktail not found on the menu.
Adam will compete with winners from other European countries at a final in November, with the prize of a trip to the Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries in Japan. He is pictured left, with Stanislav Vadrna.
The other competitors at the London event included: Robert Wood from the Kenilworth, Warwickshire; LLadislav Piljar from Bam Bou, London; Gabriele Manfredi from Nightjar, London; Hayden Lambert from The Merchant Hotel, Belfast; Nicola Piazza from The Zetter Townhouse, London; Nathan Merriman from the American Bar at the Savoy, London; and Ryan Chetiyawardana, previously at the Worship Street Whistling Shop, London.
