Drinks importer and distributor Paragon Brands has unveiled Arumdu, a new four-strong range of premium rum-based liqueurs.
The Arumdu range embraces Caramelised Banana, Rum Bongo Punch, Butter Salted Popcorn and Spit Roasted Pineapple flavours, all of which are bottled with an ABV of 28%.
To produce the liqueurs, premium aged Guyana rum from the Demerara Diamond Distillery is blended with a range of natural extracts and essences to create “engaging and exciting” flavoured variants.
Chris Jones, director of Paragon Brands, said: “We are really excited to bring Arumdu to the UK market at a time when consumers are looking for innovation from the rum category.
“We know from the explosion in flavoured gin that UK consumers continue to seek new experiences from their drinks, which we hope to bring to them with Arumdu, a quality rum with an engaging flavour line-up.”
Arumdu can be paired with a variety of soft drinks, including ginger ale and classic cola. As a cocktail, it can be used to add twists to traditional rum-based serves or create new concoctions such as the Old Fashioned at the Movies and Sticky Banana Daiquiri (recipes below).
Old Fashioned at the Movies
50ml Arumdu Butter Salted Popcorn
2 dashes Angostura bitters
10ml William Fox Salted Caramel Syrup
Add bitters and syrup to a tumbler glass, stir with ice and gradually add rum. Garnish with popcorn.
Sticky Banana Daiquri
50ml Arumdu Caramelised Banana
6 slices of Banana
25ml Lime juice
Shake with ice cubes, strain in to a Martini glass to remove ice and pulp and garnish with a slice of banana.
