All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group teams up with BII

New chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group, Graham Evans MP, announced a new partnership with the BII this week which will mean all its members will be kept informed when it comes to industry issues.

The move will mean that all beer group MPs receive the BII’s weekly INNfocus e-newsletter which provides information, advice and updates on issues affecting the pub industry and the members of the BII. They will also receive online the BII’s quarterly BII News magazine and MPs will be welcome to attend any of the BII’s regional events in their area to hear directly from members about the challenges they face.

Mike Clist, the BII’s chief executive said: “I am absolutely delighted to be able to welcome the MP members of the beer group into the BII family, at a time when support and understanding from Westminster is so crucial for the future of our member’s businesses.

“I hope that by including these MPs in our network they can gain a greater understanding of the challenges and issues small licensed retail businesses face every day, and can also get in touch with licensees in their area to fully understand the local issues within their own constituencies so that when Parliament debates relevant regulatory changes they have the insight they need to represent those directly affected by it.”

Following the announcement, long-serving senior bar attendant at the Strangers’ Bar in the House of Commons, Will Conway received an Honorary Membership to the BII, which was presented to him by Graham Evans and Mike Clist.
