Perfect Pairings Campaign Boosts Harrogate Hospitality Scene

Harrogate Spring Water is celebrating the success of its summer campaign, Perfect Pairings, which brought together local cafés, bars and restaurants to showcase the very best of Harrogate hospitality.

The three-week campaign invited residents and visitors to discover ‘perfect pairings’ of Harrogate Spring Water with locally inspired food and drink, as well as offering an exclusive in-store competition.

More than 2,500 entries were received for the consumer competition, which was complemented by strong social media engagement and increased sparkling water sales across participating venues. At Starling Café in particular, sales of sparkling water rose by 21%, with overall sales up 15% in the two weeks following the promotion compared with the two weeks prior.

Eight Harrogate venues took part, highlighting the competition and promoting Harrogate Spring Water’s bespoke mocktail and water pairings with their seasonal menus. Participating venues included The West Park, Fat Badger, Pickled Sprout, Starling Café, Love Brownies, Mama Doreen’s Emporium, Coach & Horses and the Harrogate Chocolate Factory Café. The programme also featured curated hampers, recipe cards and consumer-facing POS materials.

A standout creation from the campaign was the Valley Gardens Cooler – a refreshing mocktail blending mint, ginger, lime and Harrogate Spring Water, perfectly complementing the locally sourced summer menus at participating venues. It became a favourite among visitors, showcasing the creativity and local inspiration behind the campaign.

One lucky winner received a £500 Harrogate Gift Card, provided in partnership with Harrogate Business Improvement District, to spend in more than 100 local businesses across the town – a prize designed to directly support independent shops, restaurants and services.

Charlotte Holmes, marketing manager at Harrogate Spring Water, said: “We’re thrilled that Perfect Pairings has highlighted Harrogate’s incredible hospitality scene. The campaign not only engaged residents and visitors but also reinforced our commitment to local businesses and community initiatives.”

Bethany Allen, Operations and Projects Executive at Harrogate BID, said: “We’re delighted to see Harrogate Spring Water’s Perfect Pairings campaign shining a spotlight on the town’s vibrant hospitality sector. Initiatives like this not only bring residents and visitors together to enjoy local food and drink but also drive footfall and support our independent businesses.

“The £500 Harrogate Gift Card prize is a fantastic way to celebrate the best of what Harrogate has to offer.”

Participating venues have also expressed their enthusiasm to work with Harrogate Spring Water again on future collaborations, underlining the campaign’s long-term impact.

Simon Cotton, managing director of Fat Badger Group which owns the Fat Badger and Pickled Sprout, added: “Perfect Pairings was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with local partners. Customers loved trying the seasonal mocktails, and the campaign is a great example of how local businesses can work together to celebrate the best Harrogate has to offer.”

Harrogate Spring Water looks forward to continuing to support Harrogate’s cafés, bars and restaurants through future initiatives that celebrate quality, collaboration and local flavour.
