Further support

Alongside the partnership with WSET, Pernod Ricard UK and Chivas Brothers have announced a number of initiatives to support communities both on home soil and in international markets that continue to be affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Pernod Ricard UK has pledged its support to the UK on-trade’s workforce by donating £250,000 to industry charity The Drinks Trust.

Meanwhile, Chivas Brothers has donated 100,000L of ethanol to the manufacture of hand sanitiser amidst ongoing UK shortage. This builds on donations and manufacturing efforts already in place across the world by Pernod Ricard affiliates, including Irish Distillers, Ricard SAS, The Absolut Company and Pernod Ricard USA.

Chivas Brothers has also donated £26,000 to MND Scotland, and is distributing the prize fund of its Chivas Venture 2020 competition amongst the 26 finalists so it can be put towards helping solve social, environmental and economic challenges and creating positive impact in a testing time for people across the globe.

What’s more, blended scotch whisky Ballantine’s has pledged its support for music communities worldwide. The initiative will see grants distributed to community-driven music collectives around the world who will be taking part in Boiler Room’s recently-announced ‘Streaming from Isolation’ programme.
