Contemporary public house Lady Abercorn’s Pub & Kitchen at Andaz London Liverpool Street has launched Lady A’s Bulleit Cocktail and Tattoo Parlour pop-up.

Lady Abercorn’s has partnered with local east London illustrator and tattoo artist Sophie Mo and Bulleit Frontier Whiskey to create an immersive whiskey-infused drinking and dining experience which pays homage to the illustrious landlady’s intrepid travels and the creative flair of the area.

Hidden behind heavy oak panelled doors, the pop-up parlour is described as “a destination for the curious”.

Large tattoo flags adorn the walls, depicting iconic elements and crafts from east London while a specially commissioned neon wall feature articulating some of Lady Abercorn’s most famous sayings will light up the parlour with a faint hypnotic glow.

Guests of Lady A’s Bulleit Cocktail and Tattoo Parlour pop-up can enjoy a calendar of events such as whiskey masterclasses or tattoo consultancy with Sophie Mo.

The parlour also houses a full-length ‘magic mirror’, which superimposes a selection of tattoo designs on the body so individuals can experience their new look without getting inked.

A specially curated menu of decadent whiskey cocktails celebrates the five countries from Lady Abercorn’s exotic travels and is accompanied by specially commissioned pieces of tattoo wall art by Sophie Mo to bring them to life. For example, there are sculptural and architectural designs for Italy and flapper-style tattoos, referencing America’s iconic speakeasies.

Examples from the cocktail list include Quincy Cidre, a French-inspired cocktail featuring Bulleit Bourbon, apple cider and quince shrub, and Chai This At Home, a cocktail inspired by the spices of India, featuring Bulleit Bourbon, chai tea, winter spice, hemp milk, vanilla drops and maple & black walnut bitters.

Inspired by classic Italian ice-cream, the IScream (pictured above) cocktail includes a shot of Bulleit Bourbon sweetened with honey truffle and served with a smoked salted caramel and Bulleit ice cream sandwich.

With a menu featuring bourbon infused dishes, guests can enjoy bar snacks including Smoked Haddock Scotch Egg served with Bulleit Whiskey & horseradish crème fraiche.

Those looking for something more substantial can tuck into the signature Highland Venison Burger in a croissant style bun served with cumberland sauce, cheddar, homemade red onion relish with honey roasted parsnips.

The collaboration is the latest tattoo-inspired partnership from Bulleit Frontier Works. Earlier in 2018, the brand unveiled its Bulleit Bourbon Tattoo Edition series, which showcased four redesigned versions of its iconic Bulleit Bourbon bottles with unique tattoo artwork.

From the 27 September, Bulleit Frontier Works will be touring Europe and showcasing tattoo art from designers across the continent in the shape of a Tattoo Billboard.
