South London is set to welcome a new cocktail bar this month when Top of the Pop opens in Tooting Market.
Located upstairs at Poptata, the aptly named sister bar Top Of The Pop will serve “playful” cocktails, craft beers and wines to accompany Poptata’s signature premium street fries.
The creative selection of drinks will include a Gin & Tonic trolley, as well as cocktails on tap. Cocktails will range from millennial favourites such as Espresso Martinis and Aperol Spritz, while the signature menu will feature “botanical twists” on classic serves.
Examples will include Feisty Sour, a combination of fortified amaretto, grapefruit juice, lime juice and smoky syrup and Girlie Door, made with Belvedere Vodka, Luxardo Maraschino, pineapple, Belvoir Raspberry and rose.
The venue’s design will incorporate elements of “cool urban” with splashes of colour. The central bar will be surrounded by high tables and copper finish stools, as well as an assortment of intimate seated tables and communal benches, while industrial-style pink beams and geometric patterned tiles will be offset by a wall of foliage, acting as an “Instagram-worthy backdrop” to the whole bar.
On Friday 10 May, to celebrate the launch of the new bar, Poptata Tooting will be offering free prosecco to the first 300 Londoners at the bar.
