Popworld deconstructs cocktails for table serves

Glow-in-the-dark boxes of ingredients for making your own cocktails and a range of Spice Girls-themed drinks are among additions to the menu at Popworld late-night venues around the UK.

The Boxtails, which are exclusive to the brand, provide groups with spirits, juices, mixers, garnishes, glassware and ice plus instructions on how to make popular recipes.

They are delivered to customers’ tables in a coloured LED-lit box, each priced £99 and capable of making 28 drinks. Customers are encouraged to tweet photos of themselves and their friends enjoying their Boxtails using the hashtags #Itshiptodrinksquare and #Boxtails.

There are five of Popworld’s top cocktails to choose from: Woo Woo, Sex on the Beach, Pina Colada, Godfather and Southern Kiss.

Also new to the menu are PopStars: five Spice Girls-themed drinks called Ginger Pop, Sporty Pop, Posh Pop, Baby Pop and Scary Pop – all served with a free mask of your favourite group member.

Comprising ingredients that match their image, Ginger Pop contains Jaëgermeister, Old Jamaican Ginger Beer, lime and cucumber. Posh Pop aims to bring a bit of sophistication with Absolut Vanilia, Passoã passion fruit liqueur, passion fruit puree and pineapple juice with a touch of fizz.

Another addition to the Popworld menu is a “Low and Light” section featuring three cocktails that are low in sugar and lighter in alcohol but still delicious. Each under 200 calories, they go by names such as Raspberry Rumbull Flaska, Grey Goose Le Fizz Martini and Cubre Libre Light, based on a Cuba Libre.

The drinks menu is designed to match the concept of Stonegate Pub Company’s Popworld venues which are synonymous with neon décor and infectious pop tunes.
