Porter’s releases cold-distilled tropical variant

Porter's Tropical Old Tom Gin

A new tropical expression has been introduced by Aberdeen-based Porter’s Gin for autumn.

To make Tropical Old Tom, Porter’s have remaining true to the Old Tom style of gin, a traditional recipe which was popular in the 18th and 19th Centuries.

Historically Old Tom Gin is considered the bridge between sweet Genevers and drier London Dry Gins. For the Tropical Old Tom blend, Porter’s builds on its classic juniper base by cold distilling the tropical botanicals. It is then slightly sweetened to create a clear gin.

The employment of tropical cold-distilled botanicals, Porter’s believe, ensures a lighter, fresher taste. A classic juniper base is “lifted by exotic notes of passion fruit, guava and white tea”.

Porter’s recommend serving the new expression with premium tonic water and fresh passion fruit for a tropical G&T.

Tropical Old Tom is available to buy from the Porter’s Gin website at an RRP of £38.
