Premium seasonal cordials launched into on-trade for cocktails

Urban Cordial Company

A new range of premium cordials made with seasonal ingredients has been launched into the on-trade for use in cocktails.

The Urban Cordial Company range initially includes Pear & Ginger, Blackberry & Lavender, Strawberry & Sage and Rhubarb & Ginger, available in 50cl bottles.

Among the first bars and restaurants to use them in London are Bourne & Hollingsworth and The Ledbury as well as Drake & Morgan group’s bars and restaurants such as The Happenstance.

The brand has been created by Natasha Steele using only ingredients sourced from the UK and in season which means the recipes change through the year.

She said: “This product was borne out of sheer frustration at not being able to find a high-quality cordial, made using British, seasonal ingredients. What started out as a weekend hobby quickly became a full-time job, taking it to farmers markets and local food festivals in and around London.

“I am thrilled that major groups such as Drake & Morgan have taken it on and my sights are now set firmly on high-end restaurants, more bars, hotels and pub groups.”

Dylan Murray, director of operations at Drake & Morgan, said: “Having Urban Cordial Company behind our bars is wonderful. Our bartenders love working with it and feel the quality of the fruits and ingredients is second to none.

“They make for incredible infusions and flavours – our seasonal Gimlet with strawberry and sage cordial is a case in point, and people go mad for it.”

The cordials have been launched into the on-trade after they gained retail listings such as Selfridges, Melrose & Morgan, Craved, FarmDrop and Jones of Brockley.
