Premium Texan corn vodka introduced in UK

Tito's Handmade VodkaA hand-crafted corn-based vodka from Texas is being introduced in the UK by drinks company Hi-Spirits.

Tito’s Handmade Vodka will be available in the on- and off-trade from this month through a new distribution deal with the UK specialist in spirits and liqueurs.

The vodka, with an ABV of 40%, is made from 100% corn, giving it a sweeter, rounder flavour than vodkas made from wheat and potatoes. It is distilled six times, giving it a smoother character.

The brand has seen strong sales growth in the US, driven mainly by word of mouth and, since May 2013, it has been the exclusive vodka brand served on all United Airlines flights worldwide.

It is made in Texas at one of the fastest-growing micro distilleries in the US and earned a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Founder and master distiller Bert “Tito” Beveridge said: “We are extremely excited to begin selling Tito’s Handmade Vodka in the UK.

“As a frequent visitor, I am also looking forward to the experience of enjoying a Tito’s cocktail in the UK after all these years. It’s a dynamic market, and we’re proud to partner with Hi-Spirits to expand our distribution there.”

Dan Bolton, managing director of Hi-Spirits, added: “Tito’s Handmade Vodka is an excellent fit with our existing portfolio of brands, offering a high-quality spirit at an accessible price point.

“The entrepreneurial approach taken in the US is also an ideal match with our own approach to brand marketing and development.”

Tito’s Handmade Vodka will be sold in retail in the UK at a recommended retail price of £29.99 for a 70cl bottle.
