Ramborn rolls out Meadow Orchard Ice Cider

Ramborn Ice Cider

Luxembourg-based premium craft cider and perry producer Ramborn has added a limited release Meadow Orchard Ice Cider to its portfolio.

The new 11% ABV sweet dessert cider, which is available to the on-trade and off-trade channels across global markets, is made of 100% traditional cider apples, which would otherwise have gone to waste, using the cryoconcentration method.

The apples are harvested in October, and the juice is then frozen, which separates the water and leaves an intense, syrupy must. The must is then slowly fermented, with the residual sugar providing the cider’s “signature sweetness”, which is “elegantly offset by the traditional apples’ natural acidity”.

Ramborn sees Meadow Orchard Ice Cider as an ideal accompaniment to a wide range of dishes with bold flavours such as blue cheese, game or liver.

Adie Kaye, president of products and marketing, said: “Ice cider has been growing in popularity around the world over the last few years, with some of the best and most noted cider players getting involved.

“We’re hugely proud of our first attempt and especially of turning what was effectively ‘waste’ into something premium and complex .

“The feedback we’ve received from professionals and consumers in our country has been incredibly promising – they tend to be a good barometer for us! We’re now looking forward to reaching out to cider-lovers across the globe.”

Only 3000 Litres of Ramborn Meadow Orchard Ice Cider are currently available this year.
