Edinburgh Cocktail Week’s new seven-day format has proven a success, with stats revealing an impressive 54% increase in footfall.
This year, the city-wide event welcomed 13,276 spirit enthusiasts, who consumed over 65,000 cocktails and generated £263,456 in sales between 15 pop-ups in the Cocktail Village and 83 participating bars around the city.
The new Cocktail Village at Festival Square presented a jam-packed line up of events, masterclasses, live music and DJs. Themed pop-up bars included Grey Goose Vodka, Edinburgh Gin, Johnnie Walker, Poco Prosecco, Rumbullion Rum, Belvedere Vodka, St-Germain and a special ‘Golden Ticket’ bar from The Pop-Up Geeks.
Managing director and organiser Gary Anderson said: “Last year’s three-day event showed us that there was a real demand for a large scale cocktail festival in Edinburgh.
“Our bigger format has been a great success and has clearly resonated with spirit and cocktail drinkers, with weekday wristbands selling out and a growth in footfall of 54%.
“We are delighted with the positive feedback we have received from attendees, brands and bars. We are excited for what 2019 holds and are already planning new features to further develop the event and offer brands additional and exciting activation opportunities.
