RED ENGINE DELIVERS ON PRODUCT EVOLUTION PROMISE WITH ELECTRIC SHUFFLE’S BIGGEST GAMING UPDATE SINCE 2021

The competitive socialising group launches two new in-house designed games and a new way to play across all Electric Shuffle venues worldwide, as it delivers on its pledge to put the spotlight on shuffleboard in 2026

Red Engine, the hospitality group behind competitive socialising brands Flight Club and Electric Shuffle, today announces its most significant Electric Shuffle gaming update since 2021. The group is launching two brand new in-house designed shuffleboard games – Studio 21 and The Edge – alongside a new game format that changes how groups play across the Electric Shuffle catalogue. All three updates go live on 25th July across every Electric Shuffle venue worldwide.

The announcement marks the delivery of a commitment made by Red Engine earlier this year, when CEO Steve Moore confirmed the group was dedicating 2026 to deepening the Electric Shuffle gaming experience and developing gameplay updates that would redefine the experience for guests worldwide.

Two new games – the first since 2021

Studio 21 and The Edge are the first new games to join the Electric Shuffle catalogue since 2021, taking its roster from four to six. Both have been designed and developed entirely in-house by Red Engine’s gaming team and road-tested in prototype form by over 700 of the brand’s most loyal guests worldwide ahead of launch, with their feedback directly informing the final versions.

Studio 21 brings a blackjack-style mechanic to the shuffleboard table. Players must score exactly 21 in as few turns as possible. Go over and they are sent back to their previous score – bust. The first player to hit exactly 21 wins.

The Edge tests nerve and precision in equal measure. Players throw four consecutive pucks, with the furthest one added to their score across two rounds. The highest total wins. The margin for error is deliberately narrow: throw too far and the puck, and the points, are gone.

Launching two new games simultaneously represents a new benchmark for the brand. Designing and developing a single shuffleboard game to the standard Red Engine demands is a substantial undertaking. Doing so with two at once, entirely in-house, marks a step change in the pace of Electric Shuffle’s product evolution.

A new way to play

Alongside the new games, Red Engine is introducing All-Play, a new game format in which every player in the group competes against each other simultaneously, addressing a longstanding guest desire for more shared moments and greater involvement throughout the session. Points are awarded based on final positions, with results feeding into the main leaderboard. The format has been developed specifically to increase group engagement, reduce waiting time between turns and give every player a stake in every game.

Studio 21 and The Edge are both All-Play games. The existing Electric Shuffle catalogue continues to operate in Head-to-Head format, in which pairs are matched against each other in a single game, with points won or lost based on win, loss or draw, cycling through players across six rounds.

The introduction of All-Play means guests can now choose between two distinct ways to experience Electric Shuffle – with the format determined by which game they choose to play.

A significant phase of product evolution

The launch forms part of a broader period of investment in the Electric Shuffle product. Following the brand’s landmark openings in London’s King’s Cross and Chicago in 2025, Red Engine identified gaming innovation as the defining priority for Electric Shuffle in 2026. The introduction of two new games, a new game format and the supporting game management infrastructure represent the most comprehensive update to the Electric Shuffle experience since the brand launched

“We have been working towards this moment for a long time, and we are counting down the days until we can finally show the world what the team has built,” said Ben Morris, Digital Director at Red Engine.

“Two brand new games, designed and developed entirely in-house, launching alongside a completely new way to play is a huge step forward for Electric Shuffle. None of this happens without our guests. We are incredibly grateful to the loyal players who joined us to test these games in prototype form and gave us the honest feedback that shaped the final product. Everything we do is with our guests in mind, and we cannot wait to see their reactions when they step up to the board on 25th July. We know our community will love the new additions to the Electric Shuffle experience, and we are excited to welcome a whole new wave of shuffleboard fans into the fold.”

Global Shuffle Day and the Summer Shuffle Showdown

The gaming launch is accompanied by a wider campaign designed to drive awareness and bookings around the new releases. Global Shuffle Day on 25th July kicks things off with 2-for-1 Margaritas, all-day prizes and walk-in play across every Electric Shuffle venue worldwide. It also marks the opening move in a broader, tongue-in-cheek mission to put shuffleboard on the map – specifically, Electric Shuffle’s pledge to make shuffleboard the number one sport in the world. The Summer Shuffle Showdown follows, running from 26th July until 31st August, with weekly prizes for guests who achieve scoring milestones on The Edge.
