Redchurch Brewery has launched its very first New England IPA, a style of beer defined by its hazy appearance and tropical fruit notes.
Launching across London at Craft Beer Co sites, Redchurch’s Neipa is a vegan-friendly 6% ABV New England IPA, made predominantly using experimental hop variety Denali, as well as American hop Simcoe.
The result is a collaborative effort from the brewing team at Harlow and Redchurch’s founder Gary Ward, which features next to no bitterness, combined with earthy pine notes followed by a huge hit of tropical pineapple.
The overall impression is a rich mouthfeel complemented by big citrus aromas and gentle spiciness from the yeast.
Gary said: “It goes without saying that New England style IPAs are the biggest trend in craft brewing this summer, and our Neipa definitely stacks up with the best of them.
“True to the style, our Neipa is full of pineapple and mango juiciness from the Denali hops, and displays that classic hazy hue with almost no bitterness.”
As well as being available at Craft Beer Co, Neipa will also be available at Redchurch Brewery’s taproom in limited edition 440ml cans for the first time in the brewery’s history.
The design of the cans is bolder than Redchurch’s usual visual aesthetic, allowing it to stand out from the crowd and reflect the statement of the beer – big, bold and bursting with flavour.
Neipa can be purchased directly from the brewery in both 20l and 30l kegs, while pubs and bottle shops across the capital, including Clapton Craft, The Bottle Shop, Ghost Whale, Mother Kelly’s and Borough Wines, will be stocking it throughout the summer.
