East London’s Redchurch Brewery has announced the launch of its latest special release beer.
Dubbed NZ Pils, the New Zealand pilsner is a 5.1% ABV vegan-friendly beer, defined by its high levels of carbonation, crisp bitter finish and sweet biscuit notes.
Redchurch’s new brew is said to remain true to tradition with the use of German Pilsner malt and nobel hops to build the backbone of the beer, while the New Zealand Pilsner aromas are achieved with the addition of New Zealand hops Motueka and Waimea, which impart pine, spice and citrus notes.
The bold bottle design is part of a series, the first of which was released for the NEIPA cans over the summer.
Head brewer Pierandrea Vasi said: “NZ Pils is quickly becoming a new favourite amongst Redchurch staff and customers alike.
“A fantastic gateway beer to those unconverted to the craft movement, it has familiar flavours to a typical pilsner with the Redchurch twist.”
NZ Pils is available now in 330ml bottles and on draught at Redchurch Brewery’s taproom on Poyser Street E2. It can also be purchased direct from the brewery in cases of 24x330ml bottles and 30L kegs.
