Australian vermouth Regal Rogue has broadened its range in the UK with the introduction of two new expressions.
Regal Rogue Daring Dry is described as “super dry” with “a hint of saltiness”. It is made with a Sauvignon Blanc grape plus native Australian herbs of anise myrtle, quandong and thyme plus white pepper, olive leaf and juniper.
Regal Rogue Wild Rose marries a Shiraz Rose blush with native illawara plums, rosella and strawberry gum plus rhubarb and kina. It is slightly sweeter on the palate before being rounded off with a hint of anise and a subtle dry finish.
The two additions are made with the same artisanal production process as the original Regal Rogue collection that was launched three years ago. Available in 50cl bottles, they are suitable for drinking over ice or mixed in cocktails.
All Regal Rogue vermouths marry New World wines with complementary native herbs and spices from Australia’s outback plus a commitment to lower sugar than traditional vermouth.
The existing range comprises two expressions. Regal Rogue Bold Red is made with native wattleseed and pepperberry, thyme and a hint of bitter orange plus cacao nibs, cinnamon, ginger and cloves, married with a fine Australian Semillon and a hint of Shiraz.
Regal Rogue Lively White contains hints of native lemon myrtle, desert lime, native thyme and finger
lime plus grapefruit, rosemary, sage, oregano, basil, thyme, lemongrass and vanilla.
Founded by Mark Ward in 2012, Regal Rogue is handcrafted and blended in annual batches, each packaged in a hand-wrapped bottle.
