Rémy Martin marks Cannes film partnership with special edition

A striking golden decanter has been unveiled for Rémy Martin’s XO cognac to commemorate its exclusive role as official supplier to the Cannes Film Festival.

The limited-edition decanter features an emblematic roll of film curls, with an elegant design reflecting the craftsmanship and prestige featured in both the eaux-de-vie and at the iconic film industry event.

Rémy Martin has been a partner in the film festival for the past 10 years and each year creates a new special edition for the event. In retail, this year’s will be sold in Selfridges for £169.

It takes place from May 13 to 14, with films being promoted by stars such as Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender, Matthew McConaughey, Emily Blunt, Tom Hardy, Emma Stone and Charlize Theron.

XO Excellence is a blend of 85% Grande Champagne and 15% Petite Champagne eaux-de-vie, with ages of between 10 and 37 years. It is mahogany in colour, with intense and complex aromas of white flowers such as jasmine and iris on the nose alongside notes of oakiness, freshly grated cinnamon, spice and hazelnuts.

On the palate, it has powerful aromas of juicy ripe figs and candied oranges, leading through to a long and silky finish. It is recommended for serving neat or on the rocks and pairs well with high-quality chocolate.
