Revolución de Cuba bars add new summer-inspired cocktails

A new cocktail menu has been launched across Revolución de Cuba bars with “summer-inspired” flavours.

Drawing inspiration from the rhythm, colour, passion and flavour of Cuba, the new list has theatrical serves at its heart, including pre-bottled cocktails crafted in-house.

The Call Me Old Fashioned is a rum twist on a classic, bottled and oak-smoked to order, while One for the Road comes wrapped in a hobo-style brown paper bag.

Flamboyant garnishes include a pegged “Backhanded Compliment” and a plethora of pineapple leaves, mint and thyme sprigs, pink grapefruit and even playing cards, all designed to add an element of fun to the cocktail experience.

The menu sees the introduction of a range of “perfect serve” gin and tonics as part of the new High Society section designed for the “discerning drinker”.

It also features a White Negroni and the Maid in the Shade which was previewed at Cocktails in the City Leeds in April – a mix of Bacardi Carta Blanca rum, Sauvignon Blanc, simple syrup and lemon juice, garnished with cucumber ribbons wrapped in a mint sprig.

Enhancements have also been made to the American craft bottled, draught beer and cider range include an exclusive national listing for Goose Island’s 312 Urban Wheat Ale.

Other new craft options include Angry Orchard Hard Cider, Stevens Point Pale Ale and Maeloc Sidra which is gluten free.

The new cocktail menu follows an overhaul of the eight bars’ wine lists, including a new 500ml carafe option. Owner Revolution Bars Group has also introduced a new Latin-influenced food menu.

Myles Doran, trading director at Revolution Bars Group, said: “We’re constantly developing and refreshing our industry-leading drinks range across every category to ensure we delight our growing army of advocates with every visit and this menu enhancement is our best yet.

“At Revolución de Cuba we’re committed to bringing our customers exciting tastes and innovative serves across our food and drink offering which we have extensively researched on educational trips around the world.”
