Reyka Vodka is challenging bartenders to create a cocktail inspired by the pioneering spirit of Iceland.
In a journey to discover the UK’s most experimental bartenders, Reyka Vodka brand ambassador, Fabiano Latham, will be cycling the length of the UK in search of bartending talent.
As part of the expedition, Fabiano will host heats in ten cities across the country from London to Glasgow where bartenders will go head to head, crafting “charmingly offbeat cocktails” inspired by Iceland – the home of Reyka.
Tomatoes in Iceland are grown harnessing the same geothermal energy and glacial spring water that Reyka uses. Reyka are inviting the bartenders of the UK to create a Reyka cocktail using fresh tomato as one of the ingredients.
The most experimental cocktails will be shortlisted and invited to the local regional heats, taking place from 12 to 27 August.
A minimum of 35ml Reyka Vodka must be used in the drink alongside a maximum of six ingredients, including bitters. The bartender must showcase elements of Icelandic culture or landscape. No Bloody Marys are allowed.
A rotating panel of experts will select a talented winner from five regions: Scotland, North, Midlands, South and London. The regional heat winners will receive trips to the Icelandic homeland of the brand.
