Roald Dahl inspires cocktails for literary celebration

Roald Dahl Rocket

Children’s author Roald Dahl has inspired a new range of cocktails being added to the list at a London restaurant and bar this spring.

Rocket Bishopsgate will offer four exclusive cocktails, created by its team, for the whole of May, each inspired by books including Fantastic Mr Fox, The Witches, George’s Marvellous Medicine and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

It ties in with a celebration of “Literary Greats” across the Broadgate estate, which will feature live performances, book readings and other events in the area.

Crafty Fox incorporates a healthy mix of carrot, lemon and apple juice, with some gomme syrup, Żubrówka vodka and St-Germain elderflower liqueur thrown in.

Witches Potion is an enchanting mix of blackberries, Koko Kanu coconut rum, crème de mûre liqueur, gomme syrup, lemon juice and Havana Club rum.

Magic Medicine is a marvellously blue combination of Whitley Neill Gin, blue curaçao, gomme syrup, lemon juice and Archers peach schnapps.

Chocolate Factory is a dessert lover’s delight, made with Chivas Regal whisky, El Dorado rum, Mozart chocolate liqueur and chocolate ice cream. It will be listed as a special on the restaurant’s dessert menu.

The cocktails will be priced £7 each, or two for £12 on the happy hour menu from 5pm to 7pm.
