Rockstar expands no-calorie, no-sugar energy range


AG Barr is building on the success of its Rockstar energy drink brand with the addition of its best-selling Punched Guava flavour to its Pure Zero range.

It follows continuing growth for the Pure Zero products which were introduced two years ago and contain no calories and no sugar. Flavoured energy drinks are also driving sales increases in the energy drink sector in the UK.

Currently 49% of all carbonated soft drinks sold are low or no-calorie variants, and the low-calorie energy market is currently worth £47m and growing at 14%.

Adrian Troy, head of marketing for AG Barr, said: “By introducing Punched Guava – the best-selling flavour in the Rockstar line-up – to the Rockstar Pure Zero range, we are giving retailers an added opportunity to profit from this fast-growing sector.”
