Sales grow at The Snug bars as expansion continues

The Snug group of bars has reported growth in sales as it prepares to continue expanding with new sites in the pipeline.

In the first three months of this year, like-for-like sales were up more than 4.6% year on year and overall sales were up 7.6%.

The first quarter saw The Snug continue with its refurbishment plan, making sure gardens across the group were ready for the predicted hot summer. New menu additions also provided guests with the chance to try a wider variety of dishes and cocktails.

The group has subsequently expanded to eight locations, taking over the former Artisan Tap in Bedford’s High Street last month, joining its other sites in Cambridge, Hertford, High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, and St Albans, Ware and Hitchin (pictured) in Hertfordshire.

Giles Fry, owner of The Snug, said: “We’ve had a great start to the year and are feeling optimistic about the future, with our EBITDA figures significantly up on last year.

“With the new Bedford site opening recently and with new openings in the pipeline, there’s much to look forward to at The Snug, as we continue to expand while relying on our much-loved drinks and food offerings.”
