A second site is set to be launched for American-style restaurant and bar concept FirePit Smokehouse & Sports Bar in east Yorkshire.
It is due to open “soon” in the Flemingate Centre in the centre of Beverley, specialising in cocktails, beers and spirits alongside US-style dishes from a smoker and wood-burning grill.
It will be the second outing for the FirePit concept after the first opened in Bingley, near Bradford, in April. It is owned by Ormsborough Limited, the parent company of Potting Shed Trading, a company founded by the management team of bar operator Burning Night Group and funded by Downing LLP.
Potting Shed Trading debuted the company’s other concept, Potting Shed Bar & Gardens, in Bingley two years ago, going on to open a second in Beverley. It has another three Potting Shed sites planned around Yorkshire in Guiseley, Northallerton and Trinity Leeds.
FirePit Smokehouse & Sports Bar in Beverley will have distinctive Americana décor, combining urban industrial fittings with bright neon signage, classic car parts and bric-a-brac and a few unique wow factors. Among its trademark features will be a custom-built Airstream-style aluminium caravan, made in Beverley and specially designed to create a cool private dining booth.
Allan Harper, CEO of Potting Shed Trading, said the company had been delighted by the response from customers to the smokehouse theme at its first site in Bingley and it hoped to roll out the brand further.
“It has been so well received already, sitting in town alongside our Potting Shed Bar & Gardens, that gave us confidence in our decision that the two very different styles complement each other perfectly,” he said.
“We feel the American décor and menu work very well, and it’s something totally new for Beverley which we’re confident customers will really enjoy.”
Jade Renner, operations manager for the company, said the FirePit concept was one which has been designed to appeal to everyone, bringing an urban feel to the town location that overlooks Beverley Minster.
“We believe it will be a great place for all ages, including families during the day,” she said, “and we’re hoping to create a fun, lively atmosphere in the sports bar area where we’ll have a giant four-metre-wide LED screen showing live matches and games, along with shuffleboard and pool tables, and pinball machines.”
Steven Kenee, partner at Downing LLP, added: “We are pleased to be able to open a second site for this new brand within months of its launch, illustrating our commitment to building long-term relationships with, and providing follow-on capital to, high-quality management teams.”
