The “Spirit of the Seychelles” is coming to five leading bars around England through a link-up with Takamaka Rum.
The bars in Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and London are all offering a special menu of cocktails throughout April using the rum range from the Seychelles, featuring a signature serve from each venue.
They will each host a one-day Takamaka Takeover, starting with Mint Gun Club in Stoke Newington in north-east London today (April 3).
Introducing an element of healthy competition, the bar team behind the signature cocktail that sells the most across all the venues will be eligible to win a trip to the Takamaka Rum distillery in the Seychelles.
Takamaka White Rum, Spiced Rum, Extra Noir, Coco Rum and St André are distributed in the UK by Highball Brands, which launched them into the on-trade in May last year.
The rum is made in the Seychelles by brothers Richard and Bernard d’Offay, who were inspired by their grandfather’s rum recipe. It is made with sugarcane exclusively grown for Takamaka by a cooperative of independent family farms which is distilled and blended with molasses-based rums.
