Sharp’s helps protect beaches with limited-release porter

Sharp's Perfect Storm

Cornwall-based Sharp’s Brewery has launched a new limited-release beer, a porter called Perfect Storm, with funds helping to protecting the county’s beaches.

At 4% ABV, the full-bodied beer offers dark chocolate malty notes, accented with bitter-hops and a light, lingering roasted coffee finish.

Inspired by the wild seas of the Atlantic Ocean on the brewery’s doorstep, 5p from every pint of Perfect Storm will be donated to the Blue Flag charity to help protect beaches in Cornwall.

It is available across on-trade outlets throughout mainland UK from now until April 29 while stocks last.

James Nicholls, senior brand Manager at Sharp’s Brewery, said: “Our brewing team is committed to experimenting with loads of exciting flavours and aromas and our latest limited- edition release is no exception.

“The Perfect Storm brew is an exceptional dark beer, designed to be warming and satisfying. It can act as the perfect end to a bracing winter walk on the stormy Cornish coast.

“We’re delighted to be supporting The Blue Flag Initiative and the fantastic support they provide for coastal areas through our limited release range of brews.”

Blue Flag is a voluntary eco-label that encourages sustainable development of beaches across the world, and is owned and run by the non-governmental organisation, the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).

The new release complements the brewery’s other beers such as Doom Bar, the UK’s number-one cask beer, and Atlantic Pale Ale.
