Slingsby Gin adds navy-strength expression

Slingsby Navy Strength Gin

A navy-strength expression has been introduced for Slingsby Artisan Gin, tying in with its sponsorship of Ladies’ Day at yachting event Cowes Week.

After launching its original Slingsby Gin in September last year, Spirit of Harrogate has created the first bottling of the 57% ABV Slingsby Navy Strength Gin – ideal for cocktails.

The style was traditionally strong enough to pass the Royal Navy’s “proof” test at which gunpowder would still ignite if gin was to be spilled on it.

The super-premium gin comes in a striking black glass bottle in contrast to the blue glass bottle of the London dry gin. It was launched to tie in with Cowes Week on the Isle of Wight which runs from August 6 to 13.

It is recommended for mixing with pink grapefruit juice and Roses Lime Cordial for a twist on a Gimlet.

Marcus Black, co-founder and managing director of Slingsby Gin, said: “This time last year, our unique interpretation of a classic London Dry Gin was meticulously designed with our customers at the very centre of the thought process. We are continuously innovating and no detail has ever been too small.”
