Smirnoff’s Peppermint Twist Hot Chocolate

As the cold weather draws in and the hygge craze continues to sweep across the UK, Smirnoff has launched its limited edition Peppermint Twist Liqueur just in time for Christmas.

The new liqueur, made with peppermint and other natural flavours, has a hint of fresh peppermint and comes packaged in a festive bottle that even smells of peppermint once the bottle is scratched.

This limited edition launch is available at Asda and is designed to be used as an ingredient in the Peppermint Twist Hot Chocolate, which can be enjoyed at selected Greene King pubs across the UK.

Hygge is the Danish word for describing the joyful feeling people get from ordinary, everyday moments like enjoying a hot chocolate with friends when it’s cold outside. At this time of year, many of us suffer from FOGO (the fear of going out) and with nearly nine in ten Danes citing hot drinks as the number one component of hygge, Smirnoff hopes this recipe will prove popular with consumers.

50ml Smirnoff Peppermint Twist Liqueur
200ml Hot Chocolate
1 Dollop Whipped Cream
1 Peppermint Stick
Method: Mix your favourite hot chocolate or cocoa powder with milk and heat. Pour a shot of Smirnoff Peppermint Twist into the drink. Garnish with whipped cream and a peppermint stick.
