Snug Bars toast earlier opening

The Snug Bars group is to start opening all of its outlets from 8am as part of a strategy to capture more of the breakfast market.

From August 24, the bars will open earlier at all five locations in St Albans and Hertford in Hertfordshire, High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire and Cambridge, where it operates two bars.

Managing director Giles Fry said: “The bars already run an excellent coffee offering, so we thought why not open the doors early and grab those early birds with a cup of fresh, authentic Italian coffee to drink in a relaxed no-rush environment. We will also be running an offer of free toast to all our guests from 8am to 11am because, let’s face it, who doesn’t love free toast.”

The company hopes that this early-opening concept will help build on its already extensive cocktail and burger trade, allowing it to continue to expand in the coming months.

Snug Bars has been expanding steadily since the first venue was opened by Giles Fry and Ash Moore in Trumpington in Cambridge in 2005.

The venues currently open for breakfast (pictured) from 10am seven days a week, serving food through lunch and dinner until closing.
