New soft drink combines apple juice and sparkling water

Newton's 330ml

A new soft drink has been launched into the on-trade, providing a healthier alternative by blending apple juice and sparkling water.

Because of its water content, Newton’s Appl Fizzics has around 40% less sugar than apple juice on its own. It is completely natural and contains no artificial ingredients, preservatives or added sugar.

It is available in a 330ml long-neck glass bottle with a “crown cork” closure like a premium lager or cider as well as 750ml bottles for table serves. It is best served chilled, drunk from the bottle or served over ice.

Inspiration behind the brand’s name stems from scientist and mathematician Sir Isaac Newton who discovered the laws of gravity after witnessing an apple falling to the ground in 1666.

Chris Banks, founder of Newton’s Appl Fizzics, said: “We are really excited to be launching Newton’s Appl Fizzics at such an appropriate time. So many people are trying to reduce the amount of sugar they consume and this is a key theme in the sector. We also know that people believe natural is best so there is no room for anything artificial in our drinks and never will be.”

Initially trialled last summer, Newton’s Appl Fizzics received an “extremely positive” reception in premium bars and pubs as well as delis and small stores. It is now being made available nationwide.

Newton’s Appl Fizzics is a registered trademark of independent company Big Thoughts in Food and Drink, based in London.
