South African fresh-juice cocktails refresh Bunnychow menu

Bunnychow Madiba

A range of South African fresh-juice cocktails have been introduced at Bunnychow – the London venue inspired by Durban street food.

Its freshly pressed bottled juices, such as grapefruit, can be enjoyed on their own or mixed with rum, vodka or gin as a cocktail. They are created fresh by the chefs and served from countertop jars.

Costing £2 without alcohol and £4 with, they include the North Beach, combining coconut water, coconut cream, elderflower, lime zest, lemon and white rum. The Madiba (pictured top) is made with fresh grapefruit juice, vanilla, lime, elderflower and vodka, garnished with berries.

The Green Mamba is made with cucumber, mint, lime, elderflower, juniper berries and gin while the Invictus (pictured below) mixes ginger, allspice, cinnamon, star anise, chilli and lime with the option of adding spiced rum.

After a redesign, Bunnychow in Wardour Street in Soho has 28 covers, specialising in the “bunny” – a freshly baked bun, hollowed out, crammed with hot fillings and topped with a bread “lid”. The business is headed by chief executive Atholl Milton with head chef Finn Baird.
