Special releases added for The Irishman whiskey range

Irishman whiskeys

Emporia Brands has introduced two new special-edition Irish whiskeys from Walsh Whiskey Distillery under The Irishman brand.

The Irishman Single Malt 12 Year Old is triple distilled in copper pot stills and matured exclusively in first-fill, flame-charred ex-bourbon barrels. It is bottled at 43% ABV without chill-filtering, with each of the 6,000 bottles produced numbered as a mark of quality

The Irishman Cask Strength, at 53% ABV, is distilled three times and aged in American oak casks. Each year, founder Bernard Walsh selects a handful of exceptional casks to make this the benchmark for super-premium cask-strength Irish whiskey.

The 2014 Cask Strength is available in strictly limited quantities with on average 2,000 bottles produced each year. Each bottle is uniquely numbered and signed.

The 2013 release of the Cask Strength won a Gold Medal in the premium Irish whiskey category at The Whiskey Masters and Gold at the International Spirits Challenge 2014. It was also rated 94.5 points in Jim Murray’s Whiskey Bible 2010 and described as “quite exceptional”

The Irishman whiskey range also includes Founders Reserve, which is 100% pot still, of which 70% is single malt, at 40% ABV. The other expressions are Single Malt at 40% ABV and 12 Year Old Single Malt at 43% ABV.

The full range, including the two new whiskeys, are available through Speciality Drinks.
