The flavours of spring and the weirdness of Alice in Wonderland come together in the latest residency at east London bar Callooh Callay.
Its upstairs JubJub bar has been taken over by Bobby Hiddleston and Mia Johansson, two bartenders who returned to the UK last year to set up acclaimed Dalston bar High Water (pictured).
While High Water thrives over in north-east London, Bobby and Mia are busy at JubJub serving up cocktails such as the March Hare: a pink peppercorn-infused grain whiskey mixed with pineapple sherbet and basil, topped with champagne.
The 12-strong cocktail list ranges from the Smooth Sailing, made with scotch whisky, manzanilla sherry, St-Germain elderflower liqueur and Branca Menta, to the Primrose Hill, combining a green tea tequila with lime sherbet, honeydew melon and curaçao. The cocktails are all priced £8 each.
Alternatively, you can enjoy one of the bar’s wines or a beer such as Hobo, Viru or Harviestoun Broken Dial.
Bobby and Mia originally worked together at Milk & Honey in London before moving to New York City where Bobby became head bartender at The Dead Rabbit Grocery & Grog in the financial district while Mia opened the bar at Lafayette.
They will be running the JubJub bar at Callooh Callay until May 3.
