Stagolee’s serves up hot chicken and liquor

This April a new restaurant and bar will be bringing a taste of the deep south to south London to tempt customers with fiery hot chicken washed down with smooth bourbons.

Stagolee’s will serve southern American food and a selection of sultry liquors, and is headed up by Ashley James from Texas and Jordan Harris, a food lover and native of Nashville, Tennessee.

Ashley has experience as sous chef at the acclaimed Rainbow Room in New York and has been trained by Michelin-starred chef Tom Aikens.

Staple dishes include Skillet Fried Chicken, brined, dipped in buttermilk and fried to perfection and the Hot Spinach Dip (cheesy spinach and artichoke dip). Moonshine drinks include Firefly Moonshine and Mountain-rita, a margarita featuring moonshine instead of tequila.

The lively and soulful culture of Southern America is displayed throughout the intimate Fulham venue with portraits of dancing, eating, and drinking the days and nights away. These pictures harken back to Ashley and Jordan’s family lineage and welcome Londoners in for a social occasion, be it dinner before a night out of dancing, or a weekend catch up over brunch.

Quoting American civil rights activist Cesar Chavez, Ashley and Jordan believe “the people who give you their food give you their heart” something they hope will shine through at Stagolee’s.
