Operators of bars, pubs and restaurants across the north-west have a new event for finding out about the latest products and trends. The first Stockport Food & Drink Trade Show will be held on Wednesday June 20, aimed at both the on-trade and retailers.
It plans to have more than 50 exhibitors made up of suppliers from across Manchester and a 60-mile radius of Stockport including Lancashire, Yorkshire, Merseyside and the Midlands.
It will feature talks by a range of industry figures, sharing their opinions and insights on the food and drink sector in the north-west. They will include Will Evans, managing director of speciality craft beer importer and distributor Cave Direct, and Paul Jones, managing director and co-founder of Manchester brewery Cloudwater Brew Co.
Other speakers will include Sam Buckley, head chef and owner of Stockport’s critically acclaimed restaurant Where The Light Gets In, award-winning chef Matt Nutter from The Allotment Vegan Restaurant in Stockport, and Simon Martin, a Noma-trained chef who will shortly be opening his first restaurant Mana in Ancoats in Manchester.
Taking place in The Market Place in Stockport, the trade show is organised by Stockport-based FoodSync. It will run from 10am to 4pm, with tickets available for free at www.foodsync.co.uk/fdts/.
The day will also include the set-up of a natural wine bar at Where The Light Gets In from 6.30pm and the town’s first food and business awards in the visitors centre at Stockport’s Robinsons Brewery in the evening.
The event ties in with the regeneration of Stockport’s Old Town and Market Place, with plans to make it a destination for food and drink.
