Stonegate buys The Living Room bars

living room liverpoolStonegate Pub Company, which operates Slug and Lettuce and Yates’s, has announced the acquisition of The Living Room name and its 13 sites from Premium Bars & Restaurants (PBR).

The Living Room was part of a package of 33 bars and clubs run under a management contract by Eclectic Clubs & Bars, the operator of Lola Lo and Sakura bars, on behalf of PBR, part of The Orchid Group.

Toby Smith, chief executive of Stonegate, said: “We are delighted to have acquired The Living Room business and are looking forward to working with the current team to operate what are undoubtedly some of the finest sites in the UK.”

The Living Room bars, which date back to 1999, are in Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool (pictured), Manchester, Milton Keynes, Newcastle upon Tyne, Oxford, Nottingham, York, London’s Regent Street and London’s St Katharine Docks.

The value of the transaction has not been disclosed.

Stonegate has also acquired a new site for its Slug and Lettuce group in the 02 Arena in London’s Docklands. Its other bars include Missoula, Scream and Yates’s and nightclubs Reflex, Popworld, Flares and Babylon.
