Stonegate invests in revamp of Yates’s in Southampton

Yates's - Southampton

Stonegate Pub Company has invested £380,000 in a revamp of its Yates’s bar in Southampton which has been launched alongside a new food and drink menu.

Changes at the bar in Above Bar Street in the town centre include an increase in the number of screens showing BT Sport and Sky to build on its reputation as a destination for watching sport.

Its new food menu includes breakfasts served from 8am, with 12 options ranging from a full English breakfast to a three-egg omelette or warm pancakes with fresh blueberries and maple syrup.

It has introduced a new chargrill barbecue menu, featuring dishes such as half a barbecue chicken, southern-fried chicken strips and sticky wings, alongside classic pub dishes, burgers and sharing platters.

Four fresh salad bowl dishes, all less than 500 calories and topped with chicken breast, flat-iron steak or salmon, provide a lower-calorie choice.

The new drinks menu features two-for-one cocktails all day every day, from classic Mojitos and Margaritas to new drinks served in jam jars, mixing jam with a liqueur, Smirnoff Red vodka and lemonade.

Extra handpull pumps have been installed so that the bar can offer five national and locally sourced cask ales, alongside its range of premium bottled beers and wines.

General manager Paul Mulcrone said: “There is nowhere better than Yates’s in Southampton for sports viewing and now, with our refurbishment, we will continue to offer the best facilities in town. We are very excited to roll out the new food and drinks menu and look forward to showcasing it to our customers.”

The bar opens from 8am Mondays to Saturdays and from 10am on Sundays. It closes at midnight Sundays to Wednesdays and at 1am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
