Strawberries picked for new Camden Town summer lager

Strawberry Hells

Camden Town Brewery is set to release its limited-edition summer lager, Strawberry Hells Forever, next month – balanced with fresh, hand-picked young British strawberries.

Due to be launched on August 1, the tart, crisp and refreshing beer is made with Mosaic, Simcoe and Perle hops, and pilsner and wheat malts, with an ABV of 4.65%.

It uses strawberries picked in Essex by the brewery’s team, family and friends. This provided inspiration for the bottle illustration, designed by London-based artist Jay Cover.

Presented in 500ml printed glass bottles, the beer will also be offered on tap in the brewery’s own bars – Camden Town Brewery Bar, The Horseshoe and Camden’s Daughter – as well as in pubs and bars across the country.

Ahead of the August 1 launch, Camden Town Brewery will hold a series of its Camden Shout nights at pubs and bars across London today (July 29) where people will be invited to “drink the first keg dry” on the brewery.

Jasper Cuppaidge, founder of Camden Town Brewery, said: “We have so much fun making Strawberry Hells Forever. From the great day out picking strawberries with the whole team, to kicking back in the sun enjoying it later in the summer, this special take on our favourite lager truly encapsulates summer and Camden for us.”
