Sweden’s distinctive Pang Pang beers come to UK

Pang Pang Golden Bock

The unique Pang Pang range of beers from Sweden has been launched in the UK through a new agreement with leading importer Morgenrot.

Set up in 2010 by lone brewer Fredrik Tunedal in Stockholm, Pang Pang – meaning “bang bang” – has generated a reputation for producing some of the most eye-catching and distinctive beers within Scandinavia’s booming craft beer market.

The range includes Shower Beer, a 10% ABV double pale ale specifically made to be enjoyed in the shower.

The range also features Tiki Tango Pale Ale, the brewery’s entry-level beer at 4.5% ABV – a pale ale with a single hop, Simcoe. The others are Golden Glock Fruit IPA, at 5.8% ABV, made with a multitude of tropical and citrusy fruits, and Flamingo-Go IPA at 6% ABV, which is a creamy IPA brewed with oats and a lot of Simcoe hops.

A series of Pang Pang “Tap Takeover” and activation events are then planned to run in London, Liverpool and Manchester in June and July.

Fredrik said: “It’s amazing to have my beers in the UK and I’m delighted to be working with Morgenrot as we kick things off this summer. I have the deepest respect for the UK beer scene and brewing culture and am humbled to get this chance to mess your whole notion of craft beer up.”

Morgenrot’s commercial director John Critchley added: “We have been slowly building our craft beer portfolio, searching out breweries who are doing something a little bit differently, who have real personality and beers that assault the senses in the best possible way.

“When the chance to speak to Fredrik came along, we jumped at it and can’t wait to unleash some craft beer Swedish mayhem on the UK this summer.”

It joins Morgenrot’s portfolio which also includes Palax, La Pirata, Sleemans, Krombacher, Quilmes, Tucumen, Tribaut, Loxarel, Supper Club and Vallemajor.
