A taste of Spain in Shoreditch


The Tapas Revolution Shoreditch has teamed up with the award-winning Cocktail Trading Co to create a new cocktail menu of classics with a Spanish twist.

10 new cocktails have been added to the Shoreditch drinks list which features classic cocktails with a Spanish touch using Spanish spirits, wines and ingredients including Larios gin, cava, Pedro Ximénez, Spanish brandy Veterano, blood orange, paprika and chorizo.

Highlights from the new menu include; Blood Orange & Cherry Royal, a blend of Larios gin, blood orange, aguardiente de cerezas, pimento dram shaken with lemon and topped with cava. The Basque Country Fizz, the inspiration for this cocktail came from Patxaran liquer, mixed with sloe berry gin and a touch of aniseed, fig and apricot sherry and bitter peach topped with crisp cava. For an after dinner pick me up, Tapas Revolution will also be offering an Espresso Blanco Martini, made with Veterano brandy shaken with espresso, milk, dark chocolate liqueur, Kahlua and Frangelico.

Since its opening in 2015, Spanish chef Omar Allibhoy has brought a taste of Spain to Shoreditch at his tapas bar on Bethnal Green Road. Tapas Revolution Shoreditch is Omar’s personal interpretation of the lively and bustling tapas bars in his hometown of Madrid. This contemporary Spanish tapas bar is open for all-day dining and offers fresh tapas, using ingredients Omar has sourced from across Spain.

The Cocktail Trading Co specialises in consulting, menu design, branding and bartending. Andy Mil from The Cocktail Trading Co said: “Working with the chefs and other team members at tapas revolution has been great. The array of ingredients and flavours we had to work with was a dream.”

Some of the Spanish-inspired cocktails include:

Sparkling Rose Margarita
A take on the classic margarita with Jimador tequila, Aperol, rose water and lemon sherbet, topped with raspberry fizz.

Smoked Quince Gin Sour
Larios gin, smoked quince, paprika, fig liqueur, Xanté pear brandy and grape juice shaken with lemon, and egg white. Served on the rocks with a chorizo and olive garnish.

Blood Orange & Cherry Royal
Larios gin, blood orange, aguardiente de cerezas, pimento dram shaken with lemon and topped with cava.

Kalimotxo Sour
Cola and liquorice infused gold rum shaken with Averna amaro, Pedro Ximénez, lemon and egg white. Topped with Spanish red wine.
