TCG adds smoothies to the menu at its bars and pubs

Smoothies are being added to the menu of bars and pubs operated by leading operator TCG, building on the success of its frappés.

The smoothies are Solera, a blend of passion fruit, mango and orange juice, and Berry Crush, made from raspberry, strawberry, grenadine and cranberry.

They join Coffee Frappé and Caramel Coffee Frappé on TCG’s summer drinks menu and will be available in around 30 of the company’s pubs and bars.

TCG chief operating officer Nigel Wright said: “Our coffee range, with its seasonal variants, has already helped our pubs and bars to compete with the many other coffee providers on the high street. These two great-quality smoothies will be featured on menus and point-of-sale alongside our popular iced frappés.

“Customers now expect a very diverse range of drinks, and the addition of freshly made smoothies further broadens the choice we offer at our busy town centre sites, right throughout the day.”

TCG relaunched its entire coffee and hot drinks offer last summer when it formed a new partnership with ethical coffee supplier Cafeology. At the same time, it has rolled out a training programme to equip its staff with barista skills, enabling them to deliver consistently great coffee and helping its pubs and bars to grow their daytime trade.
