London cocktail bar chain Tequila Mockingbird has opened a new premises in Brixton, presenting its fourth site in the capital.
Formerly home to Dip and Flip restaurant, the Atlantic Road venue serves food and classic cocktails “with creative twists” alongside entertainment from a revolving line-up of guest DJs.
Available to enjoy alongside the bar’s popular Martinis, Mojitos, Margaritas are a number of new concoctions, exclusive to the Brixton bar.
To celebrate their new home, the team have launched a Brixton-only limited edition menu inspired by iconic musician David Bowie and his alter ego Ziggy Stardust.
The list features three cocktails, which come complete with lightning bolts of colour and ‘stardust’ popping candy. £1 of every cocktail served goes towards brand new music equipment for local Brixton schools.
Ziggy Stardust is made with rum, strawberry liqueur, pink guava purée, bubblegum syrup and lime juice, while Rebel Rebel blends gin, lemon juice, crème de mure, grenadine and egg white. The third cocktail, Space Oddity, combines pisco, blue curaçao, lime juice, a dash of Angostura Bitters, egg white and tonic water.
The bar has also joined forces with Brixton Brewery to create a special menu of beer-infused cocktails, or ‘hoptails’. Serves include Shakey Pete’s, which blends gin, lemon juice and ginger syrup over crushed ice, topped with Brixton Low Voltage, and Coldharbourita, a combination of El Jimador Blanco, blue curaçao, lime juice, agave syrup and Brixton Brewery’s Coldharbour Lager.
Tequila Mockingbird’s other three venues are located in Clapham, Putney and Tooting.
